Fukuoka Rocks!

In this post, I would like to introduce my hometown. I was born in Fukuoka Prefecture in Japan. Fukuoka Prefecture is one of the largest cities in Japan by a population of 5 million, and is located in the west side in Japan. Two big cities, Kitakyushu and Fukuoka are located in Fukuoka Prefecture, and population is both over 1 million people. I was born in Kitakyushu.

There is much famous food in Fukuoka Prefecture. For example, they are boiled-pork-ribs ramen noodles and a spiced cod roe. These are names of "TONKOTSURAMEM" and "MENTAIKO". In Fukuoka Prefecture, a strawberry is also famous food. "AMAOU" currently made in Fukuoka Prefecture is one of the strawberries most famous for Japan. "AMAOU" is very large and sweet. Since it is very popular. I will recommend you to eat them, if you come to Fukuoka.

This is "AMAOU"

There is a famous festival in Fukuoka Prefecture. It is a festival called Hakata Dontaku. Hakata Dontaku is one of the festivals with the largest scale in Japan. The festival is held in Hakata in Fukuoka. Hakata Dontaku is held for two days in May every year, and very many people come. In Hakata Dontaku, parade is carried out with a flat wooden spoon, and covered with mask. It is very pleasant.
This is a situation of Hakata Dontaku.

If you read this and get interested in Fukuoka Prefecture, I am glad.

  2. Hey Kairo! I really love to eat tonkotsu ramen! I always to go a shop called "Kintaro" to eat tonkotsu ramen. I also love to eat mentaiko. I often use it as a topping when I cook udon. I am glad there's so much good food in Fukuoka because, as you can see, I love to eat. What does Hataka Dontaku celebrate? There's a Japanese festival that happens in Vancouver every year, but I never have the time to go and see, so I would like to go see what Hataka Dontaku is like!
